Te Mata Estate is New Zealand's oldest winery, with the oldest buildings and commercial vineyard sites in the country. Te Mata has two vineyards in Bridge Pa Triangle. Bullnose Vineyard, the 15 hectare site planted in 1990. and Isosceles Vineyard, another 15 hectare site nearby.
A small but perfectly formed producer of Merlot/Cab Franc, Syrah and now Albarino, located on the “red metal” soils of the Bridge Pa Triangle west of Hastings. Maker of dangerously drinkable red wines, the occasional Rose and a little Albarino (to go with seafood). Soft, approachable and food-friendly styles made with passion.
